S&S drives change that matters and delivers visionary solutions. We are expanding our team and seeking a proactive Business Development Manager to lead our government contracting division. This strategic role is crucial for driving growth through securing new contracts and managing our government sales pipeline.

Role Overview

The Business Development Manager will be pivotal in identifying new business opportunities, building key relationships, and securing contracts with government entities. This role requires a deep understanding of the government procurement process and an ability to align our strategic goals with public sector needs. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, market research, and the ability to develop and implement sales strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategy Development: Craft and execute a robust government sales strategy to enhance our market share and influence within the public sector.

• Relationship Building: Forge and maintain relationships with key government stakeholders, decision-makers, and industry partners to facilitate contract opportunities.

• Contract Acquisition: Lead the identification, pursuit, and acquisition of new government contracts. Oversee the proposal process from development through negotiation and closure.

• Sales Management: Build and mentor a team dedicated to government sales, setting high performance standards and aligning efforts with company goals.

• Compliance Oversight: Ensure all activities adhere to government contracting regulations and ethical standards.

• Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to market penetration and service delivery.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Political Science, or related field. Advanced degree or certification in government contracting preferred.

• Experience: At least 5 years of proven experience in business development, with a focus on government contracting.

• Skills: In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local government procurement processes. Strong negotiation, communication, and strategic planning skills.

• Knowledge: of Federal Contracting Requirements.

• Attributes: Proactive, driven, with strong analytical abilities and a knack for problem-solving.

• Exposure to urban planning and community/economic development issues, disaster recovery projects, emergency management projects, and/or federal consulting projects.

Compensation within this range will vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, geographic location, and client requirements where applicable, as allowed by law. Additionally, regular-status employees may be eligible for performance-based bonuses.
